A question has engulfed me for the past few days. I’m in search for the right answer for it. As a human being, I’ve always believed that it is us, we human beings design our own fate and our future. Our future is the simple product of our present plans and ideas and it gets manifested on the basis of our deeds. The more lofty our dreams are, the harder it is to achieve it. And needless to mention, each man is judged by the parameter of his dream and his struggles to achieve the same.
But despite of everything I mention above, we have to admit the role of destiny in our lives. According to many philosophers, everything in our lives is predestined. This is simply a tangle between two opinions. I personally do not contradict any of these. It is something like when we desire for something, it becomes a part of our everyday thought process and when we work for achieving it from our heart, it comes true. But this holds true for a limited incidents. If we ever desire something that is not destined to happen, all our efforts go futile. And instances are not rare when we get frustrated at not having achieved something. But when we look back at by gone days, we realize that whatever had happened in past had been for our good. This however does not explain the inter-relationship between the three variables viz. dream, deeds and destiny.
Paolo Cuelho mention in his renowned book “The Alchemist”-
“When you want something, the whole Universe conspires to help you realize your desire”. The author drops a hint on this subject. But whether we believe in our own dreams and desire or rely more on destiny simple depends on individual outlook and attitude. I feel that human beings believe something when they want to believe it- and this perhaps molds our destiny to certain extent.. in words of the author.
