Maple LeavesWhile writing a blog post, sometimes Ifeel a little funny. It remind me of the time when we’re kids. We eagerly wanted to scribble anything and everything on the walls of our living room only to accentuate deep frowns on mom’s face. Well relax! This is not another post analyzing blogging basics.Today, I’ll discuss something far more interesting. From my teenage days, I’ve been an avid reader. And I love reading lots of books, classics, thriller

s, novels, you name it. I remember that once I borrowed “Gone With the Wind” from library and started leafing through its pages. But eventually the boredom of reading1000 pages got better of my interest and finally I gave up. I was barely sixteen that time and it has been seven years since then. A few days back, I had had the chance to get a glimpse of the book once again. And as I finished reading, I concluded that the book doesn’t narrate a story… it sketches life.

The life of the protagonist Scarlett o’Hara has been nicely portrayed in the backdrop of American Civil war. It vividly describes the impact of war in lives of common American and at the same time tries to explore delicate facets of human relations. Every incident in a person’s life leaves behind an impression in the person’s character and it becomes more evident as we get to know of the life of Scarlett. The adamant girl from Georgia gradually morphs into a responsible woman taking care of the lives of her dependents. Being unable to forget her childhood sweetheart Ashley, she is less attentive towards her husband and eventually looses him. And at the end of the story, e find Scarlett realize that she never loved Ashley at all. It was Rhett( her husband) who had been the man of her life. … Mitchell Margaret leaves the rest part of her life untold and the story ends where we find Scarlet traveling back to Tara waiting Rhett to come back someday….sometime.

In my opinion, the novelist actually hits the right chord of human sentiments where she leaves Ashley deserted, craving for the love that she once had. In practical parlance too, human are seldom aware of their own emotions. Often they love someone and feel it is for someone else. We don’t know whether Scarlett ever got the chance of meeting Rhett once again… and even if she did.. was it like ever before. People realize the worth of something when it goes out of reach..that’s basically human nature, and their lives are like feathers..just gone with the wind.
